Get ready for a scary and close non-conference showdown between the Giants and Steelers on Monday night.
The Giants lost back-to-back games to Cincinnati and Philadelphia, dropping from potential NFC East contender status to the bottom of the division in just two weeks.
Meanwhile, Pittsburgh has just emerged from a crisis. a dominant 22-point win over the Jets in Russell Wilson’s first game as the Steelers’ starting quarterbackwhich brought them into a tie with the Ravens at the top of the AFC North.
Here’s a preview of the game with our best spread and total bets.
Giants vs. Steelers Spread
Coming off a 25-point home loss to the Eagles, the Giants enter Monday night’s game as 6-point underdogs on the road.
They have covered the spread in three of seven games while the Steelers have a 5-2 ATS record.
The Giants’ eye-opening road win over the Seahawks three weeks ago without star rookie Malik Nabers put the NFL on notice that there could be a dark horse in the NFC East.

However, the G-Men have since lost back-to-back home games to Philadelphia and Cincinnati, allowing a total of 10 points against teams that have struggled a lot defensively this season.
The Giants now head to Pittsburgh to face a defense that ranks second in opponent points per game, eighth in opponent yards per game and ranks third in Pro Football Focus’ defensive rating through the first seven weeks of the season.
Don’t expect a switch this week against the Steelers.
Daniel Jones threw for just 99 yards. against an Eagles secondary that was one of the worst teams in football last season. While Philadelphia’s defense has made significant strides, Jones’ struggles last week were inexplicable.
However, Brian Daboll believes Jones gives his team “best chance to win” Unfortunately for the quarterback, he will have to face one of The NFL’s Most Formidable Frontlines on Monday night, one that leads the NFL in sacks and ranks third in QB hits.
I’ll skate with the Steelers at home, despite the Giants’ strange penchant for showing up in road games.
Recommendation: Steelers -6.5 (-104, FanDuel)
Point totals vs. Giants vs. Steelers
The point total for this game is the lowest in the NFL in Week 8 and the only one in the 30s. It opened at 42.5, but some books now list it as low as 36.
The Giants have only played one game this season that went over the total point line. The Steelers are also below .500 with a 3-4 mark.
Somehow the total in this match still seems too high.
The Giants offense reverted to form as it failed to gain momentum on the ground or in the air. Since Jones entered the NFL in 2019, no team has allowed fewer points than the Giants, who have the lowest scoring average this year (14.1 ppg) of the six he’s played for. .

Then there’s the Giants’ defense, which transforms from Clark Kent to Superman on the road, especially in the red zone. He ranks second in the NFL in opponent red zone completion percentage (touchdowns only) on the road, but last in that category at MetLife Stadium.
Pittsburgh should find some success offensively with Wilson, who had his moments in his first game back from injury (6.2 yards per play, seventh in Week 7), but the Giants’ elite pass rush (first in sack percentage) could cause damage at times.
Betting on the NFL?
And Justin Fieldless’ Steelers don’t have a strong enough running game to take advantage of the Giants defense that Saquon Barkley and the Eagles just destroyed.
Recommendation: Less than 36.5 points (-110, Caesar).
