Well, we do have the potential for record warmth on Thursday, but it won’t last until the weekend. However, our first weekend in November is looking pretty good and great for outdoor activities.
Since peak foliage has passed in many areas, there are still plenty of things to do, such as a fall hike, field games, or even perhaps a late apple picking. Just be sure to check your local farm to make sure they are still open.
I always like to start my weekend forecast on Friday and this day looks extremely mild again. Although the cold front will pass through the area in the pre-dawn hours Friday, it will take several hours for the cool air to arrive. This means that if there is some rain or light rain early in the day, the weather will be mostly sunny and temperatures will drop back into the low to even mid 70s with gusty winds.

The cooler air does arrive Friday night, and when you get up Saturday morning, temperatures will be back within a few degrees of the 40s in most places.
Saturday is sunny and the wind is blowing from the north. Temperatures will be between 49 and 54 degrees during the day, then drop fairly quickly as the sun sets. Remember, Saturday is last day of daylight saving time with our sunset at 5:35 pm, so be sure to turn back any clocks that need to be set manually.

When you get up on Sunday we are back to standard time and the sun will rise at 6:20am as we shift daylight to morning meaning sunset on Sunday is at 4:34pm. Temperatures will become a little milder again during the day with light winds reaching the mid to upper 50s.

It’s part of a warming trend that will continue early next week with temperatures gradually rising – returning to the 60s and possibly higher. There will be very warm air in the Mid-Atlantic next week with near record highs to our south. Depending on the jet stream’s configuration, it will determine whether we see new record high temperatures. It’s possible.
