A van is at a crime scene near the scene of a shooting in the area of Fourth and Tremont streets in north Champaign on Wednesday.
CHAMPAIGN — For the second day in a row, Booker T. Washington STEAM Academy in Champaign was placed on a soft lockdown Thursday “due to police activity in the area,” district spokeswoman Stacy Moore told The News-Gazette.
“The termination was put on hold until we received clearance from CPD,” Moore said Thursday.
This happened around 16:00 when the quarantine was lifted.
